Chrome extension for Etsy POD sellers
POD Niche Validator scans Etsy's Bestseller results for any keyword and shows the evidence behind the niche: verified Bestseller badges, the product mix and prices for each product type. Then it drafts your title, tags and description from your own product facts, never from someone else's listing, and estimates your Etsy fees and profit before you list.

Score a niche with Etsy's own data, find the stronger related terms, scan the bestsellers and get an Etsy-ready listing.
Narrated, with captions built in, so it works with the sound on or off.
Why niche research comes first
A beautiful design can't sell to people who aren't looking for it. Before you open a design app, find out who is already searching, what they love, and where the gaps are. The niche is the foundation. Your product, design and listing are built on top of it.
Bestseller badges and busy searches show that real buyers already want this. You start with proof, not a hunch.
Research shows where listings all look the same and where buyers go unserved. That gap is your opening.
When you know the niche, you know its language. Your title and tags match what buyers actually type.
A focused shop earns loyal repeat buyers and a clear identity. Each new design builds on the last one.
Design is how you win the buyer. The niche is how you find them.Nichewright Lab
How it works
No spreadsheets, no guessing. The extension reads the Etsy page you have open and turns it into decisions.
Type a keyword like “surf wall art”. The tool opens Etsy's Bestseller results for it in your tab.
is_best_seller=trueOne click reads the page: prices, badges, reviews, what's personalized, and which listings buyers are adding to carts.
48 bestsellers readSee the evidence, check your fees and profit margin, then get a ready-to-edit listing built from your product facts. Open any bestseller and inspect it for options, photos and its color palette.
title · tags · design prompts · profitWhat you get
Signed in to your shop? The extension reads Etsy's Marketplace Insights for your keyword: searches over the last 30 days, 90 days and 12 months, competing listings and conversion rate, plus the months when searches peak. It scores the term out of 100, then scores and ranks dozens of related terms so you can see which niche to target first.
Enter your price and costs and see every Etsy fee, line by line: listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, payment processing for your country, Offsite Ads, Etsy Ads, currency conversion and VAT on fees. Add your product cost, shipping and packaging to get your profit, margin, break-even price and the price you need for the margin you want.
Your price and costs are always yours to enter, and every Etsy rate can be changed. After a scan, one click uses the typical price for that product type.
Open a competitor's Etsy shop and scan it: total sales, rating, admirers and the sections it invests in. Then its top 10 sellers, ranked by how many recent reviews name each item, with Bestseller badges, favorites and item reviews checked on each listing.
See its winning angles: the themes that sell above their share of the shop, the ones that are crowded but slow, the phrases its top sellers share, and its order pace month by month. Etsy publishes only total shop sales, so per-month numbers are labeled as estimates.
Weak, some or stronger evidence, with the counts behind it, what the data can't tell you, and which keyword to test first.
Five relevant listings, each with exactly what its card showed: badge, cart and 24-hour notes (or “unknown”), price, link and when it was seen.
Three title options built on Etsy's 2026 title guidance: keyword in the first 40 characters, key traits first, under 15 words, no filler. Each has its own Copy button, and Inspect builds them from any bestseller you open.
13 multi-word tags, each 20 characters or fewer, with the reason it's there. Click one to copy it, or copy all 13 at once.
Options, personalization, what their description covers, and related searches. Then write your own version.
Reads every photo in the listing, on your computer with Chrome's built-in AI, finds the design itself, then writes prompts for a flat, print-ready variation: no mockups, sized for your product, plus a matching set piece and a new colorway.
Research, not copying
Every output is checked so what you publish is yours.
Your title is checked against theirs. No phrase longer than three words is reused.
Trademarks and characters are flagged and kept out of titles, tags and prompts.
It works on Etsy pages in your tab, only when you click. Results stay in your browser; nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
Installation
No account to create and nothing to configure. You add it to Chrome yourself from the download, in six steps.
Enter your email in Get access below and download the extension (a .zip file).
Double-click the zip and move the folder somewhere you'll keep, like Documents › POD Niche Validator. Don't delete it later: Chrome runs the extension from that folder.
Paste this into Chrome's address bar and press Enter (in Edge, use edge://extensions):
chrome://extensionsFlip the “Developer mode” switch in the top-right corner. It only lets Chrome load an extension from a folder on your computer.
Pick the unzipped folder: the one that has manifest.json directly inside it, not the zip and not a folder above it.
Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar, pin POD Niche Validator, then click its icon. The side panel opens on the right, ready for your first keyword.

FAQ
Chrome or Edge on a computer. For the Niche Score, sign in to your Etsy seller account so the extension can read Marketplace Insights.
No. It works only on etsy.com, only when you press Score, Scan or Inspect. To do that it may change your current tab's address (to add or remove Etsy's Bestseller filter), scroll the page, or open Marketplace Insights in your Shop Manager. It sends nothing to us or to third parties; listing images load from Etsy. Your scans and settings are saved only in your browser until you delete them in the panel or remove the extension. The sign-up form here sends your email, optional first name, opt-in choice, browser type and this page's address to our Google Sheet so we can send the download and, if you opt in, updates.
Turn on Developer mode first (top-right of the extensions page). On school- or work-managed computers, an administrator may block this. Try a personal computer.
The tab needs to show Etsy search results. Press “Search it on Etsy” in the panel, or search on Etsy yourself, then scan.
Not yet. It works in Chrome and Edge on Windows, Mac and Chromebook.
Download the new zip here, unzip it over your existing folder (replace the files), then press the reload arrow on the extension’s card in chrome://extensions. The version in the panel title changes when it worked.
It uses the rates Etsy publishes in its Fees & Payments Policy (listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, payment processing by country, Offsite Ads, currency conversion), and you can change any rate. Your price, product cost and shipping are yours to enter. It's an estimate: it doesn't include income tax, your time or subscriptions, and Etsy can change its fees, so check etsy.com/legal/fees from time to time.
No, and the tool is built to stop that. It learns what buyers respond to, then helps you make your own design, title and description. Copying artwork, wording or brand names can get listings removed and shops suspended.
